Bracknell Conservative Policy Forum (CPF) meeting on Friday 16 October will turn its attention to waste and recycling, looking at the services we rely on every week and what we could do better locally.
Waste collection is one of the most visible services provided by local government. We’ll discuss everything from household waste and recycling collections to food waste, recycling centres, fly-tipping, litter and the cost of disposing of our rubbish.
We also want to explore some of the bigger questions. Are we making recycling simple enough for residents? Could more waste be reused rather than thrown away? How do we improve recycling rates without making life unnecessarily complicated for households? And how can councils provide a reliable service while getting better value for taxpayers?
This is a local, informal CPF discussion, so you don’t need to be an expert or arrive armed with policy papers. We want to hear about your experiences, your frustrations and, most importantly, your ideas for how things could be done differently.
The ideas raised through our local CPF discussions can help inform our wider policy thinking and provide valuable input as we develop our priorities for the future.
