Gill Birch and Dee Hamilton, two borough Councillors, have launched a new social evening called the T Club. This represents having Tea, Talking together with like-minded people. They set this up because after COVID people had become isolated and socially phobic so this was for members or friends to meet in a safe environment to have speakers come with interesting topics, share skills. It is non-political, non-fundraising (unless it was for a charity represented by the outside speaker). We have a raffle to cover the cost of the hall and the rest of the money goes to charity.
This club started in February and the topics have been; Selling online, computer safety, how to organize your inbox and a baking demonstration.
For our June meeting we invited along the Bracknell Fire Brigade who brought along a fire engine.
The firemen were happy to talk with local residents and to demonstrate some of the features of their vehicle which are used to ensure public safety.
The next meeting will be on July 5th at 8pm at the Birch Hill Community Centre and will be with BAGHOGS, a charity supporting hard of hearing and deaf residents of Bracknell.
There will be no meeting in August but meetings will resume in the Autumn with:
- September 6th , 8pm Birch Hill Community Centre is ‘How to keep your heart healthy’, a personal trainer giving tips and advice.
- October 4th , 8pm Birch Hill Community Centre How to sell online, best tips.
