Buckler’s Park Residents Raise Concerns Over Anti-Social Behaviour, Parking and Speeding
Crowthorne Parish Cllr Jeff Allen has met with local residents and two PCSOs at Buckler’s Park to discuss growing concerns over anti-social behaviour, parking and speeding on Goodwood Crescent and Buckler’s Ride.
Ten local families attended the meeting, where residents spoke about their experiences and the difficulties they have faced trying to get problems addressed.
Frustration Over Anti-Social Behaviour
Residents expressed considerable frustration over the response to ongoing anti-social behaviour.
Police representatives explained that further evidence was needed to support action and discussed how incidents should be recorded and reported.
However, residents highlighted apparent confusion over what evidence they are expected to provide. During the meeting, residents were advised not to film incidents, while one resident said she had previously submitted date and time-stamped photographs but had been told video evidence was required.
The PCSOs are now providing residents with an information leaflet explaining how anti-social behaviour should be reported and what evidence is required.
Cllr Jeff Allen said:
"The frustration from residents was very clear. People want to do the right thing and provide the evidence the police need, but they need clear and consistent advice about what they are expected to provide."
"I welcome the PCSOs providing residents with clearer information about reporting incidents, but ultimately residents want to see these problems dealt with."
Parking and Speeding Remain Unresolved
Residents also raised concerns about parking and speeding on Goodwood Crescent and Buckler’s Ride.
The PCSOs explained that because the roads remain unadopted, their ability to deal with some of these issues is limited.
Cllr Jeff Allen added:
"The parking and speeding issues remain unresolved. What concerns me is that the more we look into these problems, the more questions arise about decisions made by Bracknell Forest Council and the consequences those decisions are now having for residents."
"Residents should not be left in a position where they raise legitimate concerns only to discover that the authorities they turn to are unable to act because their roads remain unadopted."
Local Conservatives will continue to investigate the issues surrounding the roads at Buckler’s Park and press for answers about what can be done to address the concerns raised by residents.
