Theresa May has announced more ministerial appointments today, which the Queen is pleased to approve, including the appointment of our local MP, Dr Phillip Lee, as Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Ministry of Justice.
“I am delighted to have been asked to serve in Theresa May’s government. We face challenging times over the coming months and the Prime Minister has shown in her appointments that she is determined to build a team around her capable of meeting these challenges.
“I am also proud to be the first MP for the area for over 40 years to hold a ministerial portfolio.
“The Department of Justice is going to be at the heart of some the decisions taken as a result of Brexit, in particular the field of Human Rights.”
“This is good news indeed,” said Bracknell’s Conservative Association Chairman Michael Gbadebo, “We congratulate Phillip on this new government position and wish him every success.”
