Thanks to all of the marvellous work by the NHS staff and volunteers working on the vaccination programme and the great support of the public for the latest lockdown. The numbers in our community are starting to head in the right direction.
The latest figures available for Bracknell showed that in the last 7 days the number of people testing positive had fallen by 44% (national average 12.4%) and the patients admitted by Frimley Health also fell by 51.9% (national average 25.3%). The number of deaths was 3. Yet again as a borough we are now seeing numbers fall more quickly that other regions of the UK and hopefully we will soon be able to prevent further deaths. As a result of the great progress we have made in the last few months there were only 13 people admitted to Frimley Health in the last week of March days.
Leader of the Council, Paul Bettison OBE commented "In each of the last 5 weeks whilst the UK number of infections and hospitalisations have maintained a downward trend, the numbers in Bracknell Forest have fallen at an even greater rate than the national average. This is something we should be extremely proud of as a community."
We have not yet won this latest battle against COVID but we continue to make great progress.
The members of our council would like to thank everyone for their continued support so that we can eradicate this virus from our region.
