Charles' Election Pledge
"I will continue to successfully deliver local services and will build upon the support and trust you have placed in me as your Councillor over the past five years.
As Lead Councillor for Adult Services and Public Health I was responsible for organising the successful local Covid-19 response.
We overcame local PPE shortages, formed a task force to manage local outbreaks, sourced and deployed testing kits and assisted the local vaccination programme. We formed a food delivery hub which distributed 5,000 food parcels and also a befriending and welfare phone system to support concerned residents. Our Volunteer Scheme delivered over 1,000 prescriptions.
We helped protect care home residents by making the early decision to refuse discharges from hospital into care homes without a negative test.
On another level I have,
- supported those opposed to the Gladmans Sandmartins, Woodcray and Johnson Drive planning applications
- lobbied for better broadband for Finchampstead and lighting for the California Greeenway
- supported 6th form provision for Bohunt School.
This has been an exhausting, exhilarating year but one in which I have been proud to be your representative. Please vote for me on May 6."
