Gaby serves the ward of Central Sandhurst on the Bracknell Forest Borough Council.
"I have lived in Sandhurst since 1993 and prior to this I lived in the surrounding area since the early 1970’s, therefore gaining considerable knowledge about matters concerning the local areas. I retired from an International Airline Company in 2011, as a senior manager. During my 41 years of problem solving in a fast moving customer service facing environment, I learnt how to work with the public and how to deliver good service, often in challenging times.
I was elected Town Councillor in 2015 representing Central Sandhurst. I am Chairman of the Environment committee. My particular interest is in recycling and landfill waste management to help maintain an environment that everyone can enjoy. I also sit on the Leisure and Strategy & Policy committees. Since 2016 I have served as a Trustee of the Sandhurst Day Centre, which cares for our older residents. From 2019 to 2020 I was elected Mayor of Sandhurst, a role that I thoroughly enjoyed as I had the opportunity to meet many amazing people who do so much in the charity sector.
In 2016 I was also elected Borough Councillor for Central Sandhurst and sit on the Environment, Care and Community Portfolio Review Groups and the Environment, Culture and Communities Overview and Scrutiny Panel.
Bracknell Forest is recognised as one of the best places to live in England. Its community spirit, the mix of small and big businesses, the high quality of local health services, schools, parks and open spaces, makes it a special place to live, work and thrive. I want to ensure it remains well managed, community focused and concentrates on the things that really matter to residents."
