Michael represents the ward of Hanworth on both the Bracknell Borough Forest Council and the Bracknell Town Council.
"I have lived in this area nearly all my life. I’ve been a Town councillor for the past 8 years and a borough councillor for 4 years.
I was previously on the Board of Silva Homes for 9 years.
I have been on multiple committees including the Environment Committee, Children, Young People and Overview and Learning Scrutiny Committee as well as the Planning Committee.
I understand the issues local people face as I live locally in Hanworth and I feel it’s very important to try and help others gain the best possible quality of life. I also believe it’s vital we all get the best value for money for the things we all rely upon from our Council. I hope to continue the good work our excellent Borough Council has done.
I would like to make sure that our housing and social needs are met to the highest possible standards. I fully support the redevelopment of our great town centre and whilst I support the development of new homes, I’m fully aware that any new developments need to be carefully considered so that they fit with local need and policies.
I have supported parking improvements locally and across our borough working with our partners.
I’m keen that we keep as much of our green space as possible as this is enjoyed by so many of us.
I’m keen to see local business thrive.
When I’m not working or doing council work I relax by making wine, metal detecting and sailing."
Speaking of his participation in the Conservative Fund Raising Auction, Michael said, "I was absolutely delighted to have been invited to join the South East Conservative fund raising auction run by Campaign Manager Laurie Lowe. The auction was held in order to support the most recent election campaigns for the South East Conservative Association and I was extremely fortunate to have actually bid for and won this amazing prize, a bottle of House of Commons Whisky very kindly donated by Angela Richardson MP (Guildford) and signed by our party leader Boris Johnson. What an amazing lot to have won and not only did I win the bidding but I also won a very welcome visit by Angela in order to present me with my special bottle at our spectacular South Hill Park. That really was a super surprise, so thank you very much to Angela Richardson MP and James Sunderland MP who made this visit possible. I was also thrilled to have my Hanworth branch members and fellow councillors attend the presentation which took place right after one of our regular online surgeries. I can’t wait for us all to get back together and start fund raising and having fun.
Last but not least, I’d like to say a very big congratulations to our newly elected councillors at the recent local elections, what a well-deserved result from all that hard work!"
