For younger people across Bracknell, Crowthorne, Sandhurst and Warfield, some of the biggest political issues are also some of the most personal.
Will you be able to afford your first home? Is university worth the cost? Are there good alternatives to university? Will there be decent jobs and opportunities? And after working hard and paying the bills, will you actually have enough left to build a life?
These are questions that matter to younger people in our communities, and Bracknell Conservatives wants younger voices to be part of the conversation.
Young Conservatives is a chance to meet people, exchange ideas, get involved locally and have a say in the future of the Conservative Party.
Helping You Own a Home
Getting onto the housing ladder has become increasingly difficult for younger generations.
The Conservatives want to make it easier.
The Party has committed to abolishing Stamp Duty on primary residences, removing one of the additional costs people face when buying and moving home.
It has also proposed a £5,000 First Job Bonus, with the first £5,000 of National Insurance paid by someone entering work instead going into savings that could help towards a first home or their future.
For a young couple starting out, that could mean £10,000 towards building their future together.
University, Student Loans and Apprenticeships
University can be a fantastic opportunity, but it shouldn't be the only route we value.
For graduates, the Conservatives have proposed capping interest on Plan 2 student loans at inflation, helping to prevent debts growing because of above-inflation interest.
We also want more opportunities for those who decide university isn't for them, with Conservative plans for 100,000 additional apprenticeships.
Whether you choose university, an apprenticeship, learn a trade, go straight into work or want to start your own business, there should be opportunities to get on and succeed.
Work, Money and Getting Ahead
Getting your first proper job should feel like the beginning of building your own life.
Working hard should mean being able to keep more of what you earn, put some money aside and gradually become more independent.
That's why Conservatives care about keeping taxes down, supporting businesses, creating jobs and making Britain somewhere that rewards people who want to get on.
For someone starting out, the economy isn't just figures on the news. It's what's in your payslip, what your rent costs, whether you can save and what sort of future you can afford.
Have Your Say
You don't need to know everything about politics to get involved. In fact, you don't need to know very much at all.
If you've got an opinion, an idea or simply want to understand an issue better, that's enough to start.
Young Conservatives gives younger members somewhere to discuss politics, challenge ideas and contribute their own.
Through our Conservative Policy Forum, there are also opportunities to take part in discussions on local and national policy and feed ideas into the wider Party.
And you won't agree with everyone about everything.
We wouldn't expect you to.
It's Not All Politics
There's a social side too.
Bracknell Young Conservatives works with Berkshire Young Conservatives, bringing together younger Conservatives from across the county.
There are social events, dinners, trips, campaigning, opportunities to meet politicians and plenty of chances simply to meet new people.
The Berkshire group also supports younger members who want to become more politically involved, including those who might eventually be interested in standing for election themselves.
Get Involved Locally
You don't have to throw yourself straight into campaigning.
Come along to an event. Join a policy discussion. Help us deliver some leaflets. Come campaigning for an hour. Or just join us for a drink and find out what we're like.
Some people become heavily involved. Others might come along to a couple of things each year.
How involved you become is entirely up to you.
